Elekanyani Ndwambi is a qualified diesel mechanic with a trade test in fitting, including machinery, and has completed engineering studies at Vhembe F.E.T College and Westcol F.E.T College. She holds a Safety Officer certificate from Tr Consultants, accredited by the Chamber of Mines of South Africa. With 17 years acquired at South deep gold mine/Gold Fields Ltd, Elekanyani has worked in various capacities, ranging from deep-level underground mining to surface operations. She has served as a control room
operator for underground machinery, overseeing their daily operations and acting as the first responder to safety incidents. Her roles have included both diesel mechanic and control room operator, ensuring safety and efficiency in both underground and surface mining environments.
